Maui April '05 Clinic
It was a great week on Maui's North Shore in the Hale Oli house. The winds were averaging
25 to 30mph
every day. We had plenty of boards and sails for everyone. I brought over 7 Exocet boards and 10 Aerotech rigs from 7.0 (never used) to 3.5 (used almost everyother day) for the clients in the clinic. Hawaiian Island supplied the rest of the equipment. (averaging at least 2 boards and 2½sails per client) The food was out of this world thanks to Amy and Anthony's cooking. They provided a breakfast and lunch every day during the clinic (for on and off site guests). After breakfast and a short break I gave lectures on different topics such as various planing jibes and shortboard tacks, wavesailing, jumping, looping, fins and equipment Q&A, etc. Then sailing with my clients (as soon as legally allowed on the north shore) from 11am to a 1:30pm lunch each day.
After lunch I usually analyzed video of the guests, that was shot in the morning each day by my wife Zorka. After some individual simulation on land we hit the water again till the sunset with Zorka shooting more video. After sailing, time for a sunset from the best hot-tub on the North shore.
